Plans to Open Source Exchange Frontend for Trading Widgets

Here we outline plans for June to release open-source frontend components for easy integrable trading widgets for your websites. More mirrors for Saturn Protocol!

Plans to Open Source Exchange Frontend for Trading Widgets

We are planning to start open sourcing components of our exchange's frontend, with Saturn Rings this will provide a clear path of achieving true decentralization via the creation of exchange mirrors. The first release will provide open source trading widgets that interact directly with Saturn Protocol, we are building them with token owners and project leaders in mind. Following up with open source components that could be used to host a complete mirror of the exchange.

Saturn Rings: Incentivized mirrors for Saturn Protocol
Saturn Rings is a new feature that will enable an incentivized way of launching mirrors for Saturn Protocol v2. A decentralized affiliate model of launching an exchange or just one market.

The ability to integrate trading widgets is an exciting feature for token owners as it enables them to provide access to their token's market via their own project's website. It also provides an extra layer of security for Saturn Protocol by spurring further decentralization in the form of more mirrors for users.

Trading Widget Architecture

Saturn Trading Widgets will be very light weight and easily integrable into any website. We are designing them to interact directly with Saturn Protocol's smart contracts and our existing API infrastructure, which means they will not require any robust or expensive server hosting.

Drive Innovation for New Integrations

Enabling other developers to unite and leverage our technology for their own project's applications will allow the creation of sustainable collaboration, trust and more importantly, innovation. Our widgets will be open source, easy to integrate, and free to use for any applications thereby creating a new wave of integrations for Saturn Protocol such as dApps, websites, or wallets. We know everyone has their own little preferences for user interfaces, open sourcing let's builders create new possibilities and add on new features for alternative mirrors of the exchange.

Use cases & benefits

  • Improve decentralization, users can buy/sell/create orders directly on a token's project website instead of the exchange.
  • Complete control over how you would like to onboard/introduce users to your token.
  • Open source can allow internalization from day 1, you can translate your widget implementation into your community's native language.
  • Ability to host your own decentralized initial exchange offering (IDEO), use our widgets to launch an IDEO directly via your website.
  • Built to support ETH and ETC.

We intend to drive innovation through the form of development bounties, which will be awarded to the teams that make use of our trading widgets or set up complete mirrors of the exchange. In our documentation for Saturn Protocol v2 we have outlined our plans to improve uncensorability by use of incentivized mirrors - which we have called Saturn Rings.

Learn the key features of the Saturn Protocol v2 upgrade: token to token trading, automatic market making, DAO governance, regular dividend payouts and more.

We see Saturn Rings as an important part of our ecosystem's future growth potential, which is why we want to start establishing the pathway for this growth today through open-sourcing. We expect to be ready to release our open source widgets late June / early July - so you can expect follow more details to be published very soon.

Future is bright!
